Product Introduction



Adopting advanced planar microwave radar technology, this radar flow meter measures water flow velocity and water level in a non-contact manner. With built-in software algorithms, it calculates and outputs real-time cross-section flow and cumulative flow, suitable for flow measurement in rivers, irrigation canals and other scenarios.

Equipped with 24GHz microwave technology for velocity and water level detection, the device is immune to temperature gradients, pressure, air density, wind and other meteorological factors, as well as sewage corrosion and sediment interference, enabling stable operation around the clock. Featuring low power consumption, compact size and easy installation & maintenance, it is well-suited for field measurement environments.

 

Working Principle



The radar flow meter integrates a radar velocity sensor and a radar water level sensor. The velocity sensor collects the surface flow velocity of water, and calculates the average flow velocity of the water cross-section via professional models. Combined with the water level data measured by the water level sensor and cross-section parameters, the cross-sectional flow area is obtained.

The flow is calculated by the formula:

Flow = Average Flow Velocity × Cross-sectional Flow Area × Correction Factor

The correction factor is determined based on actual field conditions.

The antenna beam angle of the water level sensor is 14×10°, whose detection area on the water surface is approximately circular. The beam angle of the velocity sensor is 14×32°, forming an elliptical detection area. A clear understanding of the radar coverage helps select proper installation positions and avoid interferences such as swaying branches on river banks.
